Priority areas of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector were discussed at the meeting. The strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan in various sub-sectors of energy, including the development of green energy, was emphasized.
The Georgian side informed the Azerbaijani guests about the current and planned reforms and strategic projects in the energy sector of Georgia. In particular, the Government of Georgia has developed a new support scheme for the energy sector, which should help encourage the construction of local generation facilities.
