With a preliminary agreement with the National Dispatch Center of Georgia, the 500 sq.m. “Kavkasion” began to be repaired on July 5, 2021 and continued until July 30. The operation and maintenance work on the “Kavkasion” power plant was performed in accordance with the 2021 business plan of JSC GE “Sakrusenergo” and it was carried out on the sections of the power plant passing through the territory of Georgia and Russia.
During the mentioned period, damaged and broken insulators and line armatures were replaced, damaged wires in loops and bars were repaired and replaced, shock absorbers, shock absorbers and vibration dampers were installed. The N78 and N79 masts of EKH have been strengthened by installing additional retaining beams, the damaged and deformed angle brackets have been replaced on the N229 mast. On the territory of Georgia and Russia, under the transmission line and in the protection zone, an area of up to 120 ha was cleared of trees and plants.
Currently, the foundations of the N5 and N8 towers of the former “Kavkasion” are being strengthened by the arrangement of gabions and other works, which are necessary for the safe and reliable operation of the transmission line.
The works carried out this year are very important for the normal operation of the so-called “Caucasion” and for the reliable functioning of the transmission line in the autumn-winter period.
