On February 25, 2014, in connection with the shutdown of the 500 kV power plant “Imereti”, JSC GE “Sakrusenergo” publishes a statement and appeals to the population.
Yesterday, February 25, 2014, in the mall #107-#108 of the 500 sq. m “Imereti” plant, which passes through the Didi Chkoni farm settlement of the Martvil district, the tea bushes caught fire, which caused the “Imereti” plant to shut down by accident at 17:05. The fire was probably started by the local population in order to clean the area.
It should be noted that there are frequent cases when the population intentionally sets fire before plowing or after harvesting, in order to clear the area, which is very dangerous for the stability of the energy system, as well as an increased threat to people’s lives.
Such unknowing actions by private individuals lead to disruption of the stability, reliability and continuity of the energy system, with severe material and financial consequences, and can be considered as an illegal action.
Based on the above, we appeal to the population to refrain from this type of actions.
