330kV transmission line Gardabani is a connecting line between Georgian and Azerbaijan energy system.  It started to operate in 1958 and connects substations: Gardabani 500 & Agstafa (Azerbaijan). The total length of the line is 64km, 21.1km among them is on Georgian soil. The line includes 60 towers, where ACO 480 type steel-aluminum wire is installed.   The limited load of the line is 250MW.

Currently, the situation on the line is difficult: the power towers are corroded and total update is needed. In addition, wires run out of resource due to the exploitation dates, consequently, each power tower and wire needs to be completely replaced.
