One of the important projects included in the 2022-2032 ten-year plan for the development of the transmission network of Georgia, and the implementation of which will significantly increase the independence and security of the energy system, is the new two-chain 330 kV power transmission line “1.2 switch”.
The aforementioned ten-year plans for the development of the transmission network of Georgia were discussed at the meetings of the Government of Georgia, it was agreed with the National Regulatory Commission of Energy and Water Supply of Georgia and approved by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
Double chain 330 kV power station “1,2 Gardabani” will connect the energy systems of Georgia and Azerbaijan with substations “Gardabani-500” and “Aghstafa”. The track of the power transmission line passes through the territories of Gardabani and Marneuli municipalities. The construction of the transmission line started in April 2021. Currently, active construction and installation works are underway at the site, the completion of which and the commissioning of the line are planned for June of this year.
For the safe functioning of the two-chain 330 kV substation “1,2 conversion”, the project envisages certain reconstruction works at the intersecting 500, 220 and 110 kV power transmission lines, including the 110 kV substation “Maran”, which is the power transmission line feeding the Rustavi water supply systems. In order to protect the vertical gauge between the two-chain 330 kV power station “1, 2 Gardaban” and the 110 kV power station “Maran”, it is necessary to carry out the reconstruction works of the 110 kV power station “Maran”, which includes the dismantling of one existing power station mast and the installation of a new type of mast instead. . In order to implement the aforementioned, it is necessary to turn off the 110 kV power plant “Marani” gradually: on March 4, 2022 for 4 hours, from 1000 to 1400 hours, and on March 10, 2022, for 9 hours from 1000 to 1900 hours.
The project is of national importance and the uninterrupted supply of electricity to the population of our country depends significantly on its successful implementation.
