According to the 10-year Transmission Network Development Plan of Georgia for 2022–2032, one of the projects to be implemented by JSC SAKRUSENERGO is the delivery and partial installation of four sets of single-phase 133 MVA, 330/220/10.5 kV autotransformers at the “Gardabani-500” substation, which is carried out as part of the 330 kV Gardabani–Agstafa double-circuit project.
As it is known, within the framework of this project, the construction of the double-circuit 330 kV transmission line Gardabani-1,2 has already been completed, replacing the existing 330 kV Gardabani, which had been in operation since 1958. Accordingly, a new double-circuit transmission line was constructed with dispatcher designations 330 kV Gardabani-1 and 330 kV Gardabani-2.
In May of this year, 330 kV Gardabani-1 was connected to the Georgian power system after successful testing. Testing was also performed on 330 kV Gardabani-2, which is currently in reserve. Once the new AT 3-2 autotransformer group is installed at the Gardabani substation, it will be fully integrated into the Georgian and Azerbaijani power systems, with a transmission capacity of up to 700 MW, similar to 330 kV Gardabani-1.
For the delivery and partial installation of the new 330 kV AT 3-2 autotransformer at the Gardabani substation, JSC SAKRUSENERGO has signed a contract with the contractor company LLC “Bemoni Engineering and Construction”. According to the delivery schedule, all four autotransformer sets are expected to be delivered and installed on site by the end of this year.
All technical details related to the autotransformer delivery are coordinated with specialists from Georgian State Electrosystem.
Currently, in Baku, in the manufacturer’s factory (ATEF GRUP), and in the presence of representatives from the Georgian State Electrosystem and JSC SAKRUSENERGO, the testing process of two completed sets of single-phase autotransformers is underway. Upon successful completion of these tests, the autotransformers will be transported to their designated location.
On site at the Gardabani substation, the installation of the autotransformers will be carried out by personnel from the Georgian State Electrosystem under the supervision of the manufacturer’s representatives.
