From August 05 to August 31, 2020, in agreement with the National Dispatch Center of Georgia, the 500 sq.m. railway “Kavkasion” is under repair, and the works provided by the company’s business plan are being carried out on the sections of the “Kavkasion” railway going through the territory of both Georgia and Russia.
During the repair period, damaged insulators and line armatures will be replaced on the power line, damaged wires will be replaced and repaired, an overhead inspection of the power plant will be conducted, the access roads to the masts will be repaired, the masts will be equipped with missing angles and spanner bolts. Between the masts, cutting works will be performed soon, which must be performed during the period of the repair of the EGK. Also, all other necessary works, which were not included in the plan, but necessary for the safe and reliable operation of the transmission line, will be performed.
In addition to the above-mentioned works, in order to maintain the stability of corner masts No. 176 and N225, their strengthening with tensioners will be performed on the section of the “Kavkasion” passing through the Kodori valley.
