Repair works on 500 sq.m. “Assuret”

This year, 500 kV substation “Assureti” was repaired in accordance with the plan agreed with the National Dispatch Center of Georgia on October 10, and it will last until October 27. At the moment, the overhead inspection of the EGK is in progress and will be fully carried out, replacement of broken windings, replacement of worn parts of the suspension armature of the wire and protective gvarli, installation of bolts and spiral repair clamps on the damaged wires, adjustment of the wires of the bypass loops on the corner masts, alignment of the three-beam braces and protective screens, as well as Production of urgent restoration works identified as a result of high inspection and other repair works, which were identified in the process of production of repair works and which are necessary for the safe and reliable operation of the transmission line. The 500 kV power plant “Assureti” is moving to Didgori Ridge in a difficult relief and meteorological area, with strong winds, due to which the wear of the suspension armatures of the cable and protective gvarli has increased. Especially in winter and spring, during strong winds, emergency shutdowns were caused by the proximity of wires of intermediate Р2 type masts to the body of the mast. The mentioned problem was solved in 2018, by performing V-shaped garlands of the middle phase wires, and by hanging loads on the opposite phases.
The personnel of Tbilisi and Khashuri operation-repair areas, as well as the personnel of the transport service, are engaged in the repair work of 500 sq.m. 10 units of cars and special equipment have been mobilized for the repair works at the “Assuret”.
The progress of the works is coordinated and monitored by the manager of operation and construction of the electric transmission lines of Eastern Georgia, Vakhtang Kikvadze, and the head of the labor safety service, Felix Janashia, supervises the safe performance of the work by the staff.
As a result of carrying out the repair work, the reliability and stability of the transmission line will be significantly increased, which is very important for the successful passage of the upcoming autumn-winter period and for the uninterrupted supply of electricity to the population.
