According to a preliminary agreement with the National Dispatch Center of Georgia, 500 sq.m. “Kavkasion” will be repaired in the period from August 5 to August 31, 2023.
Operation and maintenance works on the former “Kavkasion” will be performed in accordance with the 2023 business plan of JSC GE “Sakrusenergo”: damaged and broken insulators and line fittings will be replaced, wires will be repaired. Defective dampers, relief horns and vibration dampers will be installed.Trees and plants growing under the transmission line and in the protection zone will be cut and cleaned. With the forces of the contractor company, repair and cutting works will be performed on the sections of the so-called “Kavkasion” going through Gali district and Kodori valley.
Other works not foreseen by the plan will be performed, which will be necessary for the safe and reliable operation of the transmission line.
The performed works will significantly increase the stability and reliability of the functioning of the 500 kV power station “Caucasion” and the energy system of Georgia.
