Mamuka Menagarishvili, the General Director of JSC SAKRUSENERGO, and the first Deputy General Director, Irakli Kenchiashvili, attended a panel discussion titled Energy Crossroads: Choices for a Secure Future, held within the framework of the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum.

Speaking at the panel discussion, Inga Pkhaladze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, stated that the Government of Georgia actively supports and promotes both local and foreign investors by creating a favorable investment environment, which, in turn, contributes to the development of hydropower, solar energy, and other clean energy sources.

The Deputy Minister reviewed the energy policy of the Government of Georgia and emphasized the government’s vision for the sector’s development, including the strengthening of the country’s transit function.

As noted by the Deputy Minister, with the support of the Asian Development Bank, Hydrogen Action Plan and Roadmap has been developed.

In her speech, the Deputy Minister also highlighted the development of electricity transmission infrastructure, the modernization of transmission networks, the introduction of new technologies in the sector, and other key priorities.

Alongside Inga Pkhaladze, the panel discussion featured Lazar Comanescu, Secretary General of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), Péter Sztáray, State Secretary for Security Policy and Energy Security at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, and Elnur Soltanov, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
